Aluminum Trench Shields

The Aluminum Trench Shields developed by GME are static walled aluminum trench boxes designed from aircraft
grade aluminum. Manufactured from extruded aluminum panels, the Aluminum Trench Shields from GME provide protection for a wide range of depths and projects.

GME currently produces four styles of Aluminum Trench Boxes: 2AEX (2″ thick), 4AEX (4″ thick), 6″AEX (6″ thick) and Steel Frame Aluminum Trench Shields (3″, 4″, and 6″ thick).All of the aluminum trench shields are engineered and designed to be used with rubber tired backhoes or small excavators.

Modular Aluminum Systems: These are similarly suited, but do not have the hydraulic component. Even as a modular system, these aluminum trench box systems meet all OSHA requirements.

The GME 2AEX Aluminum Trench Shield is an aluminum extruded trench box with a slim, 2″ wall that comes standard with a tough, T-6 knife edge and rugged top cap. Massive, extruded end members ensure strength. Available in lengths to 12-feet, it is sized for rubber tired backhoes, and priced competitively.

The idea behind the Steel Wrapped Aluminum Trench Box is to have a lightweight aluminum trench box that will be able to be used by smaller machines (like other aluminum and light duty steel trench shields) while providing a rugged frame that is able to take the wear and tear of constant use (like steel wall trench boxes).
